Science Advocacy & Communication

March for Science, 2017
Open Science DB is a mission-driven database led by students in life sciences and engineering. We aim to make federally-funded research more accessible to the public by providing easy-to-understand summaries of peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Mentorship

The main purpose of GMU is to give undergraduate students from all fields an additional outlet to seek help and advice within the university in an informal setting. We think that the proximity in age will make graduate student mentors more approachable and relatable to mentees (similar to a Big-Brothers/Big-Sisters program). Additionally, graduate students have more flexible schedules than many other mentors. Finally, this program will give graduate students an opportunity to develop professionally and build their mentorship skills.
